(Note: This project was done in approximately 2016, and is based on UPL guidance from that time.)
Approach
Step 1 - Defined problem and goal
Patients can be overwhelmed and confused by the information they receive about their medical care. The UPL offers guidance on how to help translate this data and use certain strategies to help patients better understand their medical information. Greenway Health tasked me with studying the data and redesigning our patient portal using these techniques.

The users for this project were the patients who logged into their patient portal.
Step 2 - Research the UPL and its recommendations
I studied upl.org and our current patient portal
Step 3 - Take existing designs and improve them based on the studies
